What can businesses learn from WordCamp NL about SEO?

SEO is an ever-evolving field. This is due to the constantly changing algorithms of the largest search engines. Most people who are familiar with SEO know this. We were able to see Joost de Valk (founder of Yoast) talk about the future search engine optimisation at Wordcamp NL – and gained valuable insight about some of the most recent developments that we would like to share.

Recently, we tweeted that nearly one billion websites exist on the internet. This number is most likely to have been exceeded. Around twenty-five percent use WordPress, which is SEO-friendly (partly due to the Yoast plugin).

With so many sites out there, how can we make our site stand out? Does it suffice to purchase YouTube subscribers?

What are your products?

The first step in creating a website is to create a wireframe. You can’t escape the fact that the internet is more transparent. There are many comparison sites and more options. To be able to stand out from the rest, you must actively market your brand or product range.

What are you looking for people to do on the site?

Your client is establishing touchpoints, but what are they looking for? It may be impossible to sell your product online. So what’s the goal? What are people searching for? What do you want to search for? Keyword research is key. Consider the sales process and the keywords people will use to find you. This will help you to design the structure of your website.

User Experience

It will be surprising how many people click away from a website that is too difficult to use. Some studies suggest that 40% of users will abandon websites that take more than 3 seconds to load. It doesn’t sound like much, does it? It is, however, in the virtual world of web. Excellence is to be expected. Technical excellence is what you need. You must use the right tools and plugins to engage your clients. It is also a good idea to have it hosted on a fast network.

However, you also need to know where to tell your story so that it is seen.

Joost stated, “Facebook can be more important for a lot businesses than Google.” A Facebook strategy is necessary to drive traffic. It will help you find clients and allow them to interact with you.

Google is still an important force, but it’s becoming less dominant than it was previously. It is important to be present in other areas. You don’t have to create an account on every network – Pinterest, Vine Tumblr Periscope, Instagram, Periscope. Instead, you need to examine each network and consider their target audience and ask yourself if they will get enough engagement for your business.

It is better to spend your time and resources on a handful of networks and do them well. Facebook is an essential network. It reported that it has 1.49 billion users and holds lots of information about each user.

Google is now competing with Apple in the search engine market. Apple devices using iOS and Safari are growing in popularity and could be starting to reduce Google’s revenue. This article provides more information about “The Big Three” – Google Facebook Apple.

People can also use Amazon to search for and reach others. Many people prefer Amazon to Google when searching for items.

Google seems to be on solid ground for the moment. YouTube is also owned by Google, which is the second largest search engine. This makes it an excellent platform to get involved.

Tell your story

Tell the world your story and then let the internet know. For example, Facebook advertising allows you to target “Car Journalists in the Netherlands that earn more than PS50,000”

Joost was asked a few questions at the end of his talk. We tried to summarize them here.

Q. How does having an SSL (Secure Certificate on Your Site) affect things?

A: It is here to stay, but it is hard to know how big an impact it will have. If there are two identical websites, one with an SSL certificate will prevail over the other. SSL certificates are not expensive and there are many companies that offer discounts that can help you save money. There are many SSL coupon codes available. We recommend SSL2BUY, one of the most trusted SSL providers. Potential users can use SSL2BUY coupon to get a better deal on SSL certificates.

Q. Do you consider responsiveness to be a ranking factor for a website?

A: Mobile is crucial. Mobile is the most popular platform for searching Google. More than half of all Google searches are made from mobile. Mobile speed is important, but you must be fast.

Q. Should I participate in every marketing service or just one?

Q: I consider some essential and others optional, depending on your business. Facebook, for example, is essential in Europe. Other platforms, such as Pinterest and Instagram, can target specific audiences. If you aren’t on Instagram looking for 16-year-olds, it’s likely that you aren’t doing anything right.

Q. How can we see the future of Top Level Domains?

A: While they may be useful, there are more websites coming out that will increase the value of.com. It’s obvious if it’s located in a.com that it’s a website. You won’t be able to tell if it’s a.help site or a.academy.
